    The use of information and communication technology must be increased to create skilled human resources to meet the challenges of the fourth industrial revolution, the speakers said in an online seminar.

    The Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) Foundation organized the webinar entitled “Opportunities and Challenges of the 4th Industrial Revolution: A Media Perspective”.

    The opportunity for trade and business will not be limited to a specific geographical location, as the fourth industrial revolution is a matter of intelligence. It will probably spread around the world, the speakers said.

    Md Masudur Rahman, president of the Media Foundation, said entrepreneurs need to know ICT to seize the opportunity of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

    “With the discovery of technology, the cost of producing and distributing goods and services will be reduced at an unprecedented rate as machines will help people,” he said.

    About 70 media entrepreneurs from different parts of the country took part in the two-hour webinar.

    Md Mafizur Rahman, CEO of the Media Foundation, chaired the event, where Tanvir Faisal, the Foundation’s Deputy Director, presented the key notebook.

    Habibur Rahman, a2i program assistant, Shamim Ahmed Deowan, chair of robotics and engineering at Dhaka University, and Sajal Chandra Banik, professor of engineering at Chittagong University of Technology and Technology, attended the event.
