The incident took place in the penultimate delivery of the 16th over during the period of Prime Bank. Gazi Group players protested after Nasum Ahmed’s extravaganza won the outer edge of Prime Bank veteran Alok Kapali, but despite such a vocal appeal, the referee denied it.
And then Mahmudullah apparently lost his cool and threw himself to the ground before rolling on the floor. The experienced cricketer, visibly unhappy with the referee’s decision, then appeared to be sitting on the ground for a while before getting up and taking his place on the court.
“He [Mahmudullah] “Taka has been fined 20,000 for violating the BCB Level 2 Code of Conduct,” match referee Raqibul Hasan confirmed to The Daily Star today.
Gazi Group ended up losing the thriller with a low score with two wins.
