Spears’ father appealed to the court supervising his conservative daughter to investigate her statements to a judge last week about the court’s review of medical care and his personal life. LOS ANGELES: A Los Angeles court rejected Britney Spears’ request to expel her father from a custody arrangement that gives him control over her affairs, US media reported on Thursday.
The decision comes a week after the singer made a passionate appeal to end “abusive” conservatism during which he said he had taken medication to control her behavior, was barred from making friendship or financial decisions and had not remove a contraceptive implant despite wanting more children.
The Los Angeles Supreme Court ruled Wednesday that a lawsuit was filed in September by Spears’s attorney to add wealth management company Bessemer Trust to the Conservatives and remove Jamie Spears’s father, CNN reported.
“The custodian’s request to suspend James P. Spears immediately after the appointment of the Bessemer Trust Company of California as the sole custodian of the estate is rejected without prejudice,” Judge Brenda Penny told CNN.
The decision did not take into account Spears’ statement from last week.
Spears’s father asked the court to investigate the allegations of the music superstar that he was taking lithium drug and made her perform against her will, CNN reported.
The revelation that her conservative is preventing her from removing a contraceptive IUD has angered fans and reproductive rights groups on the internet.
Spears’s emotional address from videolink was a rare picture of her personal life, as Samuel Ingham’s lawyer said in April that Spears wanted to go straight to court.
“I just want my life back. “It’s been 13 years and that’s enough,” Spears said in a 20-minute statement.
The financial and personal life of the 39-year-old star has been largely managed by Jamie Spears since her extremely public break a decade ago, leading some fans to launch an “FreeBritney” online campaign in recent years.
Supporters have long cleared her social media accounts for hints of her well-being and any indication that she may be reluctant to drop custody.
